Lucy still laughs and jokes about "Daddy in the trunk!!"

For the Fourth of July we celebrated with some strawberry picking up in Kewaunee. Lucy and Milo were decked out in their Fourth of July outfits (as were Kristin and Eric). Lucy was stuffing those strawberries in as quick as possible.
So it has been too long since we have done a blog entry and lots of things have happened. We have been settling into our new home in Oak Park (we moved here on June 17th). On July 1st our house sold after a last minute debacle that almost stopped the sale of our house from going through. But thank the Lord the crisis was averted. Also on July 1st Don started his new job as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago doing prostate cancer research. And our little Lucy turned two on Sunday, July 5th. So this entry is all about Lucy's big day. We were in Kewaunee at my parents cottage with my family for the weekend of the 4th. We had a low key day where the kids went swimming and my sister, mom, and I made Lucy an Elmo cake. We really get into the whole cake decorating thing. Lucy's day even started off with her Puppy's strawberry waffles with ice cream (for breakfast!!). She loved opening her gifts and being the center of attention.
This picture doesn't begin to depict how crazy Milo went with this cake. He was covered from head to toe with frosting by the time they were done. Lucy was a little more dainty about it.
Lucy loved the backpack she got for pre-school (she is starting in the fall for two days a week for a couple hours). She keeps playing "school" and pretending to go on the "bus" since she has gotten home.
She got a mini radio flyer wagon to pull her stuffed animals around in.
